Hi, I’m Kristin Young.
I teach yoga, well-being, and Restore Your Core® in Atlanta, GA.
Dance and movement have been an integral part of my life since I was born. I adore all forms of dance, but modern, contemporary, African, tango, and swing have special places in my heart. I was drawn to yoga in 2000 for its beautiful movement practice in attention and awareness. My studies led me to complete several immersions and a 200hr teacher training with Sommer & Paul Sobin of Thousand Petals Yoga in 2006. Amazed and supported by the power of yoga in childbirth (and parenting!), I completed my 85hr prenatal yoga training with Blooma in Minneapolis in 2011. Most recently, I became certified in the Restore Your Core® program, a whole body movement practice to nurture core and pelvic floor function. I am currently studying with Threes PhysioYoga in an advanced 250hr yoga training.
I’m a teacher at heart. With a B.A. in Education & French, and over a dozen years experience teaching in public schools in Wisconsin, Minnesota & North Carolina, I bring that expertise to my movement teaching. As a teacher, I listen deeply to students, skillfully assess their needs, and encourage growth in a playful and non-judgemental way. My classes prioritize cultivating awareness, regulating our nervous systems, working with mindsets, and practicing movement and meditation. Through this work, my students find deeper inner knowing, awe in the body’s power to heal, and an ease in simply being.
I enjoy working with people of all ages and life circumstances. I also love teaching movement, mindset, and yoga practices to support people in prenatal/ postpartum stages, the menopause transition, depression/anxiety, sobriety, & grief. I value creating supportive environments for all, and welcome anyone who wants to experience healing and joy through movement!
